Sun, Surf and Sandstoneby *iphelps

Swells smash in into the sandstone cliffs of Cape Kiwanda as the sun lingers low on the horizon. The surf was not particularly huge this day, however the the wave action was still spectacular near low tide, with sets of waves that would explode along the sandstone cliffs.

My favorite place on the north OR coast. In many ways I find it more interesting than Bandon, I have been photographing it regularly for years now and every time I go back there is something new to shoot. It is amazing how many people from Portland have never heard of it.
