Typically inhabiting the vacated underground dwellings of another animal, the female Burrowing Owl will lay an average of 3-12 eggs. Approximately three to four weeks later the young will hatch, and after another few weeks they will begin to leave the burrow to explore. I counted eight juvenile owls at this particular burrow. They all were very curious.

I remember this owl type from a demotivational poster.
One had his head twisted like the one in here, and the other had a very unamused face.
The captions were "Retards. We all know one." XD

Cute! :D I lovethe second one's expression and the way he's got his head cocked. It shows his curious nature. I've never heard of these type of owls...guess I'll have to read up on them a bit. :) Lovely shot!
